Default Pet deaths recharge skills must go!

This has been in effect since the beginning, and everyone knows it. But it's downright annoying when you're in combat, your pet dies, and your skills all recharge, especially when you're using a res sig or something. I think that if your pet dies, it dies. It shouldn't recharge your skills. I don't even know why they added it in there anyway. I see no point to keep it or why it's been kept for so long.

Solution 1: Don't bring a pet.

Solution 2: Don't get your pet killed.

I think they should also take away your health bar, the story, and those nasty enemies.

Having a pet has its pros and its cons. In PvP, I typically try to drop dead the pet of that really annoying spearchucker, because more often than not they don't rez their pet. It cripples the player for a while. Yes, it sucks, but it's a tactical choice to bring or not bring the pet.

Your pet is supposed to be very close to you; a loyal companion and ally. The loss of such a teammate hurts you to the extent that you must spend a precious few moments grieving its passing.

BTW - higher levels of beast mastery reduce that time.

Pets are an advantage in certain situations. It's a free ally. There has to be a penalty for that.

Thank me later.

I use enemy pets for strategy also. Like thumpers, I first target the pet than kill the helpless victim.

My pet has never died before I did. Not even when I'm the only one paying attention to it because we have human monks (NPC monks generally pay some attention to it). And I do run BM builds.

Pretty much exactly what I figured. You can't just be all "Nooooooo! Fluffy! Oh well. *lays traps*" after all that work to charm, raise, and learn to fight with a pet.

you must be talkin pve, in ab i see pets dieing before masters all the time, the master runs, pet stays behind for a bit and gets nuked. Ill kill the pet whenever there is a pesky ranger thats hard to kill, disable thier skills, they go down easy.

I honestly dont get the relation between a pet dieing and your skills being disabled from it in the first place though... your being punished for being a bad owner? ... w/e

Honestly, I say it's reasonable. Like chicken fighting is illegal, putting two chickens in a small pit to watch them kill each other. Or dog fighting. I mean, you're not a very good owner if you throw your pet into the middle of a fire storm while it's hailing meteors, arrows and spears are flying everywhere, zombies are running around, swords, daggers, and scythes are clashing all over the place, and you forgot to feed Fluffy his kibbles and bits so he had the stamina to actually fight. Yeah, skill recharge is light compared to what would happen in America's justice system.

So, out of all the /notsigned in this thread, these are the only two that actually had something reasonable to say why not. And I agree with both. It is a unique mechanic, and it's intentional. Removing it just because it's "annoying" would be like removing exhaustion for the same reason.

Actually I have run it in AB as well, though I found that most people either attacked me or my teams monk. Usually the monk. On the rare occasions when a player attacked my pet it stayed up. Then again, I am running a pet with defensive buffs along with always watching its status window for problematic hexes and conditions.

Though when I see a bunny thumper in AB, that is when I go for their pet for the same reason as you do. Those pets go down quickly, so quickly that I suspect that their health isn't being watched by anyone.

I am not going to trash you either. Its simple, you are bound to this pet, its not just like the pet chihuahua that you punt in the morning. This animal goes most everywhere with you. It fights beside you, and if you were a ranger and GW employed the system it would help you hunt for food. This isnt just a animal you found along the way, its your friend. the reset is from the break you feel when it dies.

"Whyyyyyyy Piggy Whyyyyyyy?!?!?! I loveded you piggy!!!!" *GIR*
